Corrupt Hard Disks

In many instances people have trust in their hard drives. But we end up being let down by the same devices when they fail and we end up losing all our important data. Some time these devices are attached by threats such as Trojans, viruses and they start behaving in some unusual ways. Here are some things you can check out for to know whether your hard drive has failed:

Unknown Error messages:
Some times when you are busy working on your machine, you may unexpectedly experienced the following errors: ‘Hard drive missing’, ‘Hard drive not found’, ‘Operating system missing’, ‘No boot device found’ etc .Such errors indicate that your hard drive is failing or has already failed. This is because the files stored in hard drive have been corrupted and cannot be interpreted properly by the computer system. So, the next time you are working on your files and any of these messages pop up, be warned because your hard drive could be failing.

Blue screen Nightmare:
When you are working with your computer and the suddenly a blue screen with a lot of information written on it appears, this is a signs of hard drive failure. This system blue screen means that there exists bad sectors on the hard drive that the system is unable to read. Bad sectors on the hard drive indicate failure of the hard drive. So, always watch out for the ‘blue screen of death’.

Corrupt boot sector:
In some cases, the machine we may be working on reboots unexpectedly and this may go on recurring. This simply implies that the hard drive has a virus that has caused a loop within the boot sectors of the hard drive. Thus, when the computer is starting up and it reaches a certain point, it reboots automatically.

Machine freezing
Freezing of the computer means that the system fails to read and interpret certain instructions sent to it. It is an indicator that there are, corrupt sectors on your hard drive platters. This could signify that the hard drive is failing. The system is unable to access the necessary information that is needed for loading a program or locating a file.
