Hard Drive Failure and Freezing

As a computer, it would be good to know when it is working properly or it could be in the process of experiencing hard drive failure. Here are some signs that you should watch out for when the hard disk is failing:

Freezing and hanging of the computer: If your computer is hanging freezing quite often, then it means that the hard disk could be failing. What happens is that if you are working on a certain file and then you issue a certain instruction, the computer does not recognize it and then even the mouse refuses to operate. Logically, what happens in the hard disk is that the computer is unable to get the right files and information that are involved in that processing and thus freezes. The inaccessibility of the information is most probably due to corruption of the specified files or the hard drive is full and locating the files takes long.

Another way of knowing that the hard drive is failing is when you experience a certain blue screen, commonly known to many computer technicians as blue screen of death. This is usually a recovery program that runs whenever your computer is failing. It is usually a background blue screen with a lot of information written on it. The next time you experience this screen, begin saving your data immediately.

If your computer is starting up and when it reaches a certain point it restart again automatically, then the hard disk could be failing. In short, as long as your computer keeps rebooting on its own then it could be crashing. The main cause of this is a virus that causes the boot files in the hard drive to form a loop i.e. the boot files are run over and over again.
