How laptops behave when crashing

As a laptop user, you may never know when your machine could crash. So as a way of advice, if your laptop or PC displays any of the following characteristics, then there is a probability that it is crashing:

Laptop keeps rebooting: You could be working on your laptop and then suddenly it goes off. When you put it on again, it boots. But while in the boot process, it reaches a certain point and then reboots on its own. If this has happened to you it means that the hard disk could be infected and some data has been corrupted or lost. A virus causes this by causing the boot sectors to form a loop i.e. the boot files keep re-reading and are executed again and again A virus in the hard disk is an indicator that you could lose your data.

Sudden system shutdowns: You could also be working on a certain file or document and then your laptop suddenly shuts down. This is an indicator that the hard disk is failing because of corrupted files that exist in it. There is a probability that some data is already lost. Some files that run the operating system could be corrupted that is why it shuts down. Corrupting of operating system files means that there are other files in the hard disk that are corrupted. In short corruption of file sin hard disk is as good as hard disk failure.

Files and folders are missing: If you notice that some of your files and folders that you save in your laptop are missing, then it would mean that the hard disk is failing. Such errors as ‘File or folder is not found’, ‘Invalid path’ or ‘Path not found’ are an indication of hard disk failure. So be careful as you use your laptop.

Regular occurrence of errors: Another way of knowing whether you laptop hard drive is failing is by the number of error messages that occur and how often that happens. Some examples of such errors are ‘Hard drive failure’, ‘Hard drive not recognized’, ‘Operating system not found’, etc. All these messages signify that the hard disk has problems and needs to be checked.

In case you lose your data, you can always get data recovery services.
